I'm With Sarah!

Millions of liberals rejoiced and thousands of Republicans heaved a sigh of relief Friday as Sarah Palin announced her decision to resign as Alaska's governor. In her usual forthright manner, Gov. Palin made clear that she was not content to squander her time on 'politics as usual'. Here, here.

Sarah Palin has withdrawn from the arena she describes as "superficial wasteful political blood sport." She, like millions of Americans, is tired of 'politics as usual'.

On Saturday, Palin issued a message on social networking site Facebook saying, "I am now looking ahead to how we can advance this country together with our values of less government intervention, greater energy independence, stronger national security, and much-needed fiscal restraint."

Palin has made the same choice many conservatives are starting to make, opting to "effect positive change outside of government." Politics as usual no longer represents the 62 million Americans who didn't vote for Obama. Disenfranchised citizens now have no say on the the takeover of our country by radical forces and, like Sara, they are starting to seek solutions outside the political realm. And many are coming to the realization that election to public office may no longer be the best way to serve our country.

Any effective leader on the right, any conservative with the guts to stand on the principles long since abandoned by the GOP, can expect election to public office to be a waste of time and effort. A lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Where political ambitions trump sound policy. Where the ability to lie convincingly is mandatory and misleading the public is essential to re-election.

Our political system has become a no holds barred PR battle, with muckraking as its main theme and form over substance as its governing philosophy. Essential time must necessarily be spent fighting fires instead of getting things done. Time that could be better spent "keeping an eye on the ball."

The "ball" is representing and protecting the system of government our founding fathers bequeathed to us. Many conservatives believe this is no longer possible in the political realm, where our elected officials are more concerned with amassing power and retaining their offices than with protecting and defending the rights of all Americans.

Like Sarah, I believe politics works best from the ground up. At a recent gathering of my state representatives, I implored them to stand up and yell 'STOP' to the unconstitutional and unprecedented devolution of power to the federal government. As one, their answer was the same as its been for decades, "Re-elect me and I will." My answer: NO.

I, for one, withdraw my support from the business as usual GOP. From now on, I will search for solutions, like Sara, outside of the political realm. As Palin quoted, "I am not retreating, I am advancing in another direction." I leave the entrenched politicians to play their increasingly destructive games by themselves. They will no longer be enabled or supported by me.

America's strength has always come from 'we the people', not 'we the politicians.' It is time for all Americans to remember that and quit relying on government and/or politicians for solutions. Just as Sarah Palin has.

Male Hair Syndrome

Men, all men, want a full head of hair. No matter how secure, powerful, rich or successful a man is, his Achilles heel is the pattern of his hair growth.

It is the rare man who accepts the inevitable loss of his hair with grace. Most believe a full head of hair equates with youth, vigor and masculinity. And he will go to desperate lengths to hide a thinning thatch.

The first stop in the 'I'm not losing my hair' denial syndrome is the comb over. Long wisps of hair stretched carefully over a gleaming dome. Of course hairspray is absolutely necessary and its best to avoid wind. Yikes. Of course, he isn't fooling anyone, but apparently he doesn't know that. Are you listening Donald??

When the comb over becomes even too obvious for the comber to ignore, many men are prepared to take more drastic steps. These steps take various forms, depending on a man's pocketbook, profession, the age of his wife and the size of his ego.

Men of means seem to gravitate to hair plugs. These implanted plugs of hair from various other parts of the body allow the plugee to fool himself into believing that no-one will notice he's, gasp, losing his hair. He's still young and virile, you bet. Hey, just look at Joe Biden.

Awhile back, there was a nifty little product on the market that helped men disguise the hints of scalp that start to show through as their hair thinned. Far left producer Oliver Stone used this one. A can of black spray paint shot directly onto the scalp effectively gave the appearance of a real full head of hair. From a distance. Close up, I'm sorry to say, it was giggle inducing.

The next step on the Male Hair Express involves, you guessed it, the toupee. The toupee is usually the easiest to spot, as so many of the men that sport one fail to realize how unnatural it is to have a lion's mane perched atop a face full of wrinkles. Hellooo John Kerry. Theresa, please tell him!

When all else fails, and the male hair continues to thin, its out with the razor and hello baldness. Baldness was first made popular by Telly Savalas in his role of Kojak. It was then picked up by actor Bruce Willis, who gave baldness an enduring cachet. Baldness was the mark of a devil may care individuality, expressing an 'I don't give a damn' attitude, showing one and all that the (bald) guy was far above vanity. For awhile there, back in the 1980's, a bald dome exemplified masculinity. And a trend was born.

Now we have men in their 20's shaving their whole heads as soon as their hair starts to thin or recede. The only problem is, the originators of the baldness trend were movie stars whose chiseled faces didn't require a supporting cast of hair. That can't be said for most men.

So now, we have a lot of bald guys. Guys who, from a woman's point of view, would look ever so much better if they had even a modicum of hair to soften their features.* But its no use telling men that.

Women have learned through out the ages that a man's thinning hair is a subject best left alone. We have learned not to giggle. We know that the quickest way to alienate a man is to suggest we're on to his, uh, hair situation. So we encourage and flatter. Which, of course, allows the man to feel that he is indeed fooling everyone with his comb over, plugs, spray, toupee, or permanent baseball cap.

He's not. To most women, male efforts to disguise their natural hair loss is seen as, well, a weakness. A vanity, if you will. A toupee tells us the man is vain. Sorry, Tom Delay. Hair plugs tell us a man is insecure. Sorry Biden. And a shaved head tells us the man was going bald and desperately wants to hide it. And there's nothing masculine about that.

Enter feminists. In their desperate quest to eradicate any and all differences between men and women, feminists have told men that hair vanity is A OK. Hey, nail polish, hair spray and rapt attention to hair is your right. Even liposuction is on the table.

Unfortunately, many men actually believe that feminists speak for all women. They buy into the 'metrosexual' myth and heave a sigh of relief. Finally, its OK to be sensitive, vain and well, feminine. The hairspray and blow dryer retain their place of honor on their new dressing table.
.
Very few of these metrosexuals realize that the only women they attract with their perfect (and unnatural) coiffures are liberals and/or feminists. Not that there's anything wrong with that:)

Heads up, guys. Women place most of their currency in their own looks, not yours. Thinning hair matters not a whit to most women. And many women, myself included, know that a man who has the courage to accept the hair God gave him is the most masculine male of all. And he looks 100% better than most of those sorry guys that go to such lengths to cover up what's happening right on top of their eyes. And that's the truth.

Public Sex

It used to be that forcing sex on an unconsenting adult was considered rape. No longer. Now personal, deviant and x-rated sex is quickly becoming commonplace in the public square.

In just the last week, this occupant of the 'public square' has been treated to images best confined to the pages of porn magazines. Images and acts that are popping up regularly on billboards, television, the internet and pages of major publications.

Calvin Klein, in their latest breach of good taste, launched a huge billboard in SoHo showing four languid, half-dressed models engaging in group sex. That billboard managed to be more offensive than Calvin Klein's last campaign, which featured half-clad dead bodies. I guess porno and death sell jeans. Go figure.

Not to be outdone, Burger King just released their new 'Super 7 Incher' ad, equating burgers with acts that are best kept private. Absent from the ad was any hint of subtlety. Apparently Burger King believes that appealing to your sexual appetite will titillate you into buying their burgers. Or something.

Moving right along, this weekend San Francisco celebrated sexual 'diversity' with the 39th annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride Parade & Festival. This fun festival includes a Dyke March and the annual Castro Street Dance hosted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. If last years' Festival is any indicator, nudity and sex will be prominently featured. In the public square.
Ditto New York. Last weekend, New York played host to the Folsom-East Deviant Sex-Fest. Again, homosexual bondage, fisting and the casual swapping of bodily fluids played out in the public square. Lewdness laws were suspended for the duration. Just imagine the outcry if that were a terrorist receiving electro shock instead of an American citizen intent on displaying his sexual habits and his genitals in public.

These increasingly public displays of sex that many now claim as a right, portray sex as the mere indulgence of a fleeting impulse instead of an act that used to be associated with love. Sex, which is considered private and sacred by most Americans, is now being brought down to the level of a crude bathroom joke. And its being done smack dab in the middle of the public square, where channel changers and radio dials are of no use.

Last week Apple decided to cash in on the sexual tsunami by supplying porn to Iphone users. Since we are still a capitalist country, (for now, at least) this is Apple's right. Just as it is the right of consumers to choose not to download their porn. A choice that is increasingly being denied many Americans as smut, porn and casual sex become staples of more advertising campaigns. As more 'gay pride' events take place in ever more public places. As more and more Americans ascribe to the notion that their sexuality belongs in the public domain instead of in the bedroom.

In today's public square, it has been decided that Christians have no right to foist their beliefs on others, but no such constraints shackle the gay activists, businesses and the old media who continue to thrust their demeaning view of sex into the face of every American.

Sex sells. Appealing to base instincts, prurience and scandal will always find an audience in those that need to see ugliness in others in order to feel better about themselves. The silver lining is, at least now we'll be able to identify those sad souls. They're the ones wearing Calivn Klein jeans and stuffing Burger King 7 inchers into their mouths.

Silent Scandals

Most Americans love a good scandal. Schadenfreude, the taking of pleasure from the misfortunes of others, is a basic element of human nature. Granted, not the prettiest, but nonetheless, there is something deeply satisfying about seeing the mighty brought low, the arrogant humbled and the wrongdoer getting his just dessert. A reminder to us all that misfortune is not ours alone.

Mainstream media obliges and indulges this base emotion, as ever more 'news' concentrates on he said, she said imbroglios. Ratings soar as the latest Palin/Letterman twist is breathlessly reported. Internet news providers join in by posting the most lurid and shocking aberrations of the unlucky few who had the misfortune to get caught in what the media decides is a 'scandal'.

Oddly enough, despite the guaranteed ratings that accompany most scandals, the media is choosing to ignore what many consider major scandals - or would consider major scandals if they were actually reported. But they're not. The media, working in tandem with liberals, oops, progressives, now decide which scandals get coverage, raising the question, 'Is it still a scandal if its not reported?' Inquiring minds want to know.

In just the last month, an unusual number of what were formerly regarded as scandals went unnoticed and largely unreported by the old media, to wit:

Obama recently fired an Inspector General of Americorps, giving him one hour to resign or be fired. This, in direct contradiction to legislation Obama co-sponsored as Senator, requiring 30 day notice and an explanation. Obama, after railing at Fox News for their audacity in pointing this out, declared that he didn't fire Gerald Walpin because he was investigating a friend and contributor of Obama. No, he was firing him because the Inspector General was 'confused and disoriented'.

Needless to say, if Obama took the time to personally fire everyone who was 'confused and disoriented', he'd start with his own press secretary and then go on to, well, I digress.

Despite the numerous and ongoing media stories regarding former President Bush's perfectly legal firing of US attorneys years ago, the media, with a handful of exceptions, has decided not to report that Obama's firing of Gerald Walpin was not an isolated incident. Two other IGs have been dismissed in the past two weeks. The media has ignored this alarming trend, focusing instead on Donald Trump's firing of Miss California. Moving on...

Monica Conyers, the wife of longtime Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) received a letter Tuesday indicating a pending indictment from federal authorities on corruption-related charges. Yawn. Good thing it wasn't Newt Gingrich's wife.

News briefly surfaced that Senator Durbin, after a closed door meeting with the Federal Reserve right before the economic crash, quickly cashed out his stock holdings, raising the question of insider trading. A question which will most likely go unanswered. Martha Stewart must be fuming.

A report detailing how UN workers are actually stealing food from the starving people for whom it was intended and selling it on the black market was merely a blip on the radar. The UN said it had no idea that the food wasn't getting to the starving people of Somalia until shown pictures of UN-packaged goods on sale. Yawn.

Likewise a report detailing about $55 billion worth of fraud to date in the handling of the so-called stimulus funds went virtually unreported. Billions of our tax dollars, down a black hole. A non-event.

And remember 'Cold Cash' Jefferson? The Democrat caught with a cool $90,000 in his freezer? He's currently on trial. The media has chosen not to cover the story. Moving on...

What about Barney Frank? He blasted President Obama yesterday over a controversial anti-gay marriage court filing and is calling on the commander in chief to explain himself. Something Barney has yet to do when the rare reporter dares to question him about his role in promoting Fannie Mae, to the detriment of thousands of shareholders. (Or his earlier scandal, when it surfaced that his town home was being used as a gay cathouse by his boyfriend of the moment.)

When's the last time you heard about the ACORN scandal? This organization, a recipient of our tax dollars, is under investigation for voter fraud. The media reporting to date would lead one to believe that its all the fault of a few rogue employees, despite evidence to the contrary, which was reported only by Fox News.

House Democrats just crushed a GOP amendment to cut funding to this scandalous organization. At the same time, they halted a GOP amendment to investigate Speaker Pelosi's claim that the CIA lied to her.  Don't bother looking for this on the nightly news.

The list goes on. Sen. Ronald Burris, caught on tape in a lie regarding his new Senate seat.  Likewise down the memory hole are Charlie Rangel's tax 'misstatements', Harry Ried's questionable land deal, and Obama's questionable land deal. Democrats, all.

Oh, and let's not forget all the questions, unreported by the media, regarding why Obama has refused to release his birth certificate. Or his college transcripts.

Here's another scandal. A huge scandal that affects each and every one of us. The media's selective reporting, and non-reporting, that has resulted in many Americans actually believing that the GOP is the party of scandal, the party of the ethically challenged. I find this scandalous. But then, I'm just an average American in flyover country, one of the peons the media is supposed to keep informed.

The real scandal is: Its not a scandal if a Democrat does it, if it involves a progressive cause, or if the media decides not to report it. This effectively denies every American the right to enough information to make an informed decision. Yawn.

Shame On Yoiu, Mr. President

Graphic video of an Iranian woman being shot dead while watching the Iran protests with her father is sweeping the net. While Iran state media is doing its best to put a muzzle on foreign media reporting on the violent revolution unfolding in Iran, American media is under no such constraints. Americans are treated to the news that Obama is eating an ice cream cone.

As news of 20 deaths so far between protestors and police in the streets of Tehran is reported by Iran's state media, American media reports that Hillary Clinton is recovering from surgery on her elbow. Though the surgery has been described as minor, it has apparently left Hillary without a voice, as no statement has been forthcoming from our Secretary of State about the millions of Iranians who are risking death to protest their oppression by a tyrannical government.

President Obama, after being elected President in part due to his carefully crafted image as a champion of the oppressed and supporter of equality for all, has decided that America will remain neutral, as he made clear while addressing (and validating) 'Supreme Leader'. As the chaos in Iran accelerates, Obama assures the world that he is 'bearing witness.'  I'm sure the Iranian people are breathing a collective sigh of relief.

As events continue to unfold, Obama has been forced to devote a small part of his never ending television face-time to opine that Iran should stop "all violent and unjust actions." Noticeably lacking in Obama's address was the passion he showed a mere two days ago, when he put critics of his financial overhaul on notice, saying, "While I'm not spoiling for a fight, I'm ready for one."

One would almost believe that our president considers American businessmen more of a threat than a murderous regime, systematically involved in oppressing and killing its own citizens for the crime of seeking freedom.

Shame on you, Mr. President. Shame on you for being the first American president in history to decline to stand up for freedom and democracy.

As our president takes to the airwaves to exhort American fathers to be better fathers than his own, millions of Americans are doing what he is not. Standing up for the Iranian people. Demonstrations are springing up in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and across the country as the American people strive to make known their support for the Iranian people in their quest for freedom. Ditto in France, as thousands of people gathered north of Paris on Saturday to show their support for Iranian opposition protesters.

This American, while shamed by our current administration, is proud of America, knowing that the example our country has set and the freedoms we enjoy, serve as an example of what is possible. This American is proud that the Iranian people also have the example of Iraq to serve as a barometer of what might be feasible in their own country.

As our President concentrates on empty rhetoric and his own political viability, the people of America are taking to the streets. Showing by their actions that the American ideal of democracy and freedom is alive and well. And showing the Iranians that the American people, if not its president, are actively supporting them as they risk their lives to gain the basic freedoms that we take for granted.

Who knows, maybe one day the Iranian people will return the favor.

62 Million Voiceless Americans

Is it still called debate when only one side controls the conversation? That's the question the 62 million Americans who didn't vote for Obama are asking themselves.

62 million Americans now have absolutely no voice in the way our country is being governed. No say in the quadrupling of our debt or in the onerous taxes being piled on top of record unemployment. They have no say in the pending trillion dollar health care 'reform' or the more costly 'cap and trade' legislation steadily making its way through Congress.

With Democrats firmly in control of the White House and the House of Representatives, and most likely the Senate, the left has found no need for bipartisanship. After all, 'Obama won.' Case closed.

Should any pesky Republican complain, the voice goes unheard - kinda like a tree falling in a forest. Did it really fall if no one heard it? The right is reduced to pondering questions like these as the left continues implementing radical change at breakneck speed. Changes that affect every segment of our society and every single American. Changes that are being implemented without the requisite 'national conversation'. Why hold a conversation?

The left is in control and there is no need to consult with the people they were elected to govern. The politicians and the experts know best. And should the GOP try to halt this tsunami of 'change', a quick change of the filibuster rule to 51 instead of 60 is put in place. That'll teach em.

Under the guise of fighting the non-crisis of global warming, the EPA has declared the very air we breathe to be dangerous. Not to worry. Uncle Sam will save us. Here comes cap and trade. It will only cost $3,100 extra in energy costs per family.

Under the guise of universal health care, our government is preparing to take over app. 17% of our economy by nationalizing health care. Not to worry, they are consulting with the policymakers in Canada responsible for the sterling healthcare in that country. The very same government health care that forces Canadians to come to the US to get their medical needs taken care of.

Under the guise of saving the economy, the feds have taken over banks, insurance companies and car companies, prompting even thug dictator Chavez to joke, "Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right."

Under the guise of saving us from those nasty capitalists, Obama has appointed a new Pay Czar to make sure no-one is paid more than the politicians deem they are worth. At least those who are unfortunate to work for companies that have received bailout funds. And in one case, the formerly sovereign state of South Carolina has actually been forced to take bailout funds, and accept all the strings that come with it.

Consent of the governed is being ignored as the Obama administration hijacks ever more power to the federal government, in direct contravention of the 10th amendment and the Constitution. And 62 million Americans can do nothing except marvel at the audacity.

The left is rejoicing at finally being able to implement utopia here on earth. A utopian vision that has consistently failed whenever it has been foisted upon a populace, either through charisma or brute force. But never mind. Obama's utopia will work, experts assure us.

The experts who now hold us hostage are first and foremost, political beings, having been appointed 'czars' on the basis of political connections as opposed to merit. They are thoroughly steeped in theory and liberal orthodoxy and severely lacking in real world experience.

These unelected czars (15 at last count) now have control of our tax dollars and the regulatory bureaucracy that enables them to enforce their whims. Whims which are based more on political expediency than the rule of law. They will never be held accountable when their theories are tested and fail. And fail they must, as history has taught the 62 million people who didn't vote for Obama.

As we speak, the left, with the willing compliance of an adoring media, are kowtowing to our enemies while demonizing and penalizing capitalists, the very wealth creators whose money now allows the government to implement an agenda anti ethical to the American way of life.

The Obama administration, under the guise of tolerance, inclusion, multiculturalism, empathy and concern for the disenfranchised, are destroying jobs though regulation and taxation. A total of 2.19 million jobs have been lost since Obama became President. (The news that Wal-Mart will be adding 22,000 jobs this year is ignored, as they did it without unions or government help.)

The Democrats are enacting legislation that makes it impossible for America to become energy independent, while at the same time, partnering with Arab countries to help them develop nuclear energy.

Our 'leaders' are burdening America with an unsustainable level of debt while at the same time, continuing to send our tax dollars ($106 Billion) to the IMF to bail out the world. And sending $200 million more to Pakistan to help out with their refugees.

The Left, with Obama as its messiah, believing that all cultures and countries should be equal, are systematically reducing America to third world status. A level playing field at last. Whew.

Meanwhile, the 62 million people who didn't vote for Obama wait in vain for their own elected representatives to stand up and say STOP. Alas, aside from a handful of Republicans like Sarah Palin, Mark Sanford, Jim DeMint, Rick Perry and Dick Cheney, the silence from the Republicans is deafening.

62 million Americans are watching America squander its greatness on the altar of catchy, unproven, politically correct notions. And this American is wondering if the destructive policies that are being foisted upon us without our consent and without debate, are being enacted through stupidity or design.

Heterosexual Pride Month

Obama came through on his campaign theme of 'equality' Monday by proclaiming June as "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month". Obama lauded what he calls "the determination and dedication" of the LGBT movement.

In the same spirit of equality, I'd like to propose July to be designated as Heterosexual Pride Month in hopes of drawing attention to and appreciation for traditional moral values and marriage as practiced by heterosexuals. Heterosexual Pride Month could be an occasion to focus on the joys of being heterosexual and monogamous. And the determined and dedicated Americans who practice both.

Heterosexuals, whom I'll call 'happies', seldom have their voices heard or their sexual practices mentioned. Although a majority of Americans are happies, they are loath to flaunt their bedroom habits in public. Blame an ingrained sense of outdated modesty.

Most happies are advocates of traditional marriage and cling to the notion that sex should be a private affair. Some even believe that sex is a matter between a man and his wife and believe the government has no right to dictate or influence what they do in the privacy of their own bedrooms.

Some happies go even further and believe that God made Adam and Eve (not Adam and Steve) for a darn good reason.
Most happies also believe that their sexual habits should not be thrust into the faces of those who feel differently. They call it, well, just good manners. Both of these views would be excellent topics for discussion during Heterosexual Pride Month.

Since the traditional family has long been considered a vital component of civil society, we could also use Heterosexual Pride Month to emphasize and explore the social compact that traditional marriage used to signify.

Now that Obama has brought tolerance back into vogue, I recommend using Heterosexual Pride Month as an occasion to voice the legitimate moral objections many Americans (57%) have to gay marriage and the plethora of sexual practices that Obama, in the name of equality, is demanding all Americans not only accept, but endorse.

I'd be willing to host a discussion on the topic of homophobia, and explore why 98% of happies are automatically labeled homophobic if they dare to comment on what they legitimately consider an aberrant lifestyle.

Another panel discussion during Heterosexual Pride Month could deal with wether or not gender should be optional. We could then explore the harmful effects of indoctrinating impressionable young children into the idea that gender and/or sexuality is merely a lifestyle option. Special emphasis could be placed on the documented detrimental effects of the gay lifestyle.

We could then go on to discuss the physical and mental health implications of gay vs. happy, and finish off with a quick overview of the Constitution and the role of government in dictating moralality.

Heterosexual Pride Month will necessarily present quite a challenge, as many heterosexual couples these days are so busy working to pay their taxes and raising children that many of them just don't have the time to devote to activism.

Besides, most happies believe its not right to force their views of marriage and happiness on others. On this point, President Obama concurs. Just last Monday he said that the United States cannot impose its values on other countries. I'm sure he also meant 'on other citizens.' This could be another excellent topic for discussion.

In the spirit of inclusion, I'd like to extend an invitation to the LGBT movement to join us happies in making Heterosexual Pride Month a reality. With all of us working together we could have a real multicultural event with lots and lots of dialogue.

You may RSVP to nancy@rightbias.com  Looking forward to a rollicking good time.

Our Public Servants At Work

The elected representatives of 'we the people' were hard at work last week on our behalf. The new Obama administration churned out proposals and legislation on a variety of fronts including the environment, the economy, and the (former) war on terror.

In response to the Federal Reserve's report of an increasingly gloomy economic forecast, with an expectation for higher unemployment and a steeper drop in economic activity, our public servants in Congress introduced the Paid Vacation Act, requiring companies with more than 100 employees to offer a week of paid vacation for both full-time and part-time employees after they’ve put in a year on the job.

In a boon to deadbeats, President Obama on Friday signed new credit card legislation and warned the American people to be fiscally responsible, saying "Some get in over their heads by not using their heads," he said. "I want to be clear: We do not excuse or condone folks who've acted irresponsibly."

This stern warning came a full four days after it was reported that the US had set yet another record, entering into deficit spending in April, for the first time in 26 years. Oh, and the deficit will quadruple next year, and it now appears that America's triple-A credit rating is at risk.

Exhibiting a firm grasp of the obvious, President Obama on Saturday boldly told Americans what 50% of Americans already know: "We're running out of money".

This lack of money didn't keep Obama from proposing last week that the US contribute $100 billion, of the money we don't have, to help the IMF with global bailouts. And on Friday evening of a holiday weekend, it was leaked that the government had 'loaned' an additional $4 billion of our tax dollars (making a grand total of $19.4 billion) to the soon to be bankrupt General Motors.

Also ignoring this lack of money, our  public servants were hard at work  trying to figure out how to bail out minority owned media. They're also crafting a hugely expensive overhaul of health care system. The Senate proposed raising the federal excise tax on beer by 145% to pay for it.  Uncle Sam also would snatch an additional $7 on a case of wine -- a staggering increase of 233%. And that's just the start.

In case 'we the people' object, Obama's latest budget proposal includes plans to double the budget of the IRS, to make sure all Americans invest their fair share.

As America moves ever closer to economic suicide, the House last week advanced 'cap and trade' legislation, imposing the first nationwide limits on the pollution blamed for the, as yet unproven, theory of global warming.

Thankfully for Democrats, only 24% of Americans understand what cap and trade is. Probably even fewer understand that this legislation, called the largest tax increase in history, will cost the average family app. $3,100 more per year in energy costs, according to the Heritage Foundation.

Cap and Trade is being rushed through Congress, despite a new report showing that levels of numerous gases linked with air pollution, like carbon monoxide, have fallen off since 2001 and air quality in the U.S. has improved significantly over the last decade. Translation: The greenhouse gases Congress is in such a rush to regulate are at their lowest level in 19 years.

In a rare bit of under reported good news that could help ease our dependence on foreign oil, Louisiana struck gold with a massive natural-gas discovery - estimated at some 200 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. That's the equivalent of 33 billion barrels of oil, or 18 years' worth of current U.S. oil production.

House Democrats yawned, and continued crafting a bill described as a “sweeping” reform of federal drilling rules, effectively reducing incentives for oil companies to take advantage of our own ample energy resources. The House also voted down amendments designed to encourage nuclear power.

As Democrats in the House continued to focus on reducing America's supply of any energy that isn't 'green', President Obama approved plans for the U.S. to help the United Arab Emirates become the first Arab nation with a nuclear power industry. I kid you not.

Speaking of our number one public servant, last week President Obama reassured an anxious nation that upholding our values will shield us from terror. Whew. Unfortunately, a couple days after this statement, an IED exploded outside a Starbucks in downtown Manhattan. This, just after the FBI apprehended a group of four Muslim bad boys who were allegedly planning on blowing up other portions of New York.

These ex-convicts apparently adopted their fanatical Islamic leanings while incarcerated in U.S. jails. The very jails President Obama seems determined to call home to the really hardened bad boy terrorists currently residing in Camp Gitmo. But hey, Obama is fulfilling his pledge of transparency. Once these Gitmo guys set foot on US soil, they get lots of rights, and should they go to trial, terrorists the world over will reap the transparent benefits of any discovery.

Our Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, was also hard at work on America's behalf last week, proudly announcing the intention to give gay American diplomats the same benefits their heterosexual counterparts enjoy. Meanwhile, Iran has just moved 6 warships into international waters and North Korea has put the world on alert by performing another nuclear test.

In other assorted work product last week, our Democrat elected officials shot down a GOP inquiry into Speaker Pelosi's very public 'mis-statement' about the CIA. With fellow Dems covering her backside, Speaker Pelosi, on Sunday high tailed it to Shanghai, on the taxpayer's dime. Far away from all those pesky reporters who just aren't supposed to ask her questions she can't answer.

Oh, and House Democrats on Tuesday stopped a Republican plan to force a campaign finance inquiry that likely would have investigated several influential Democrats. It was the eighth time since late February that the Republican move was halted.

This is what our public servants accomplished on our behalf last week. The only remaining question is: What are 'we the people' going to do about it?

I Want To Be A Liberal

I want to be a liberal, because then everyone will like me. My family will start talking to me again, and chances are, my ex-husband will want to renew the marriage vows he broke when I started spouting conservative opinions.

I'd like to be a liberal because its ever so much easier to allow others to form my opinions for me instead of researching an issue myself. That always gets me in trouble, especially when the facts I discover diverge from the latest politically correct consensus.

I'd like to be a liberal because then I'd be rewarded for all my shortcomings and nothing would ever be my fault. I'd be an important cog in the wheel of social justice, and a cherished warrior in the current fight for equality.

If I were a liberal, I would be free to have sex whenever and with whomever I want - and be considered 'empowered' to boot. I could abort any inconvenience with nary a thought because my rights to my body trump the life I would have suctioned out of me.

I'd like to be a liberal because any guilt I would normally feel for what used to be considered deviant, irresponsible behavior may be assuaged by merely advocating the expenditure of other people's money on whatever the cause du jour is. Very cool. Especially since my stock portfolio has been pretty much decimated.

I want to be a liberal because they care so much. They have a lock on all the fashionable emotions, like tolerance, diversity, equality and patriotism. And as long as my intentions are pure and I 'care', I won't have to accept responsibility for any negative consequences that my actions might cause.

I'd like to be a liberal because everyone knows that conservatives are racist, homophobic, stupid and, well, beneath contempt. Conservatives are motivated by gasp, profit, instead of being nice. Enough said.

I'd like to be a liberal because I'd be able to redefine reality to my own specifications. I could turn failure into success, murder into choice, lies into 'misstatements', and theft into investment. I would automatically be considered wise, instead of opinionated. Best of all, I could make up the rules as I go along, change them in midstream and then demonize anyone who doesn't agree with me.

I want to be a liberal because everyone knows they hold the moral high ground. They don't lie, cheat or steal. Oh, and they don't condone torture. The media says so, so it must be true.

Before I am able to join this community of man, however, there are a few ground rules:

I have to acknowledge that government is the best and only solution for any problems America has. Despite the fact that pretty much every government solution to date has been a disaster.

I must agree that America is bad and white Christian males are responsible for all that is wrong with the world. Further, I must agree that terrorists and third world dictators are either freedom fighters or misunderstood men of good will. Oh, and I must acknowledge that dialogue is better than war. Even though decades of dialogue haven't worked, things are different, now that Obama is president. I must have faith. After all, the times, they are a changin'.

I'd, of course, be expected to not only condone, but happily embrace gay marriage and the long list of newly minted sexual behaviors, and swear to never mention the adverse health risks or the proven harm they do to traditional families.

I'd also have to quit judging people (except for conservatives). After all, liberals will allow me to do whatever I want, free from moral censure, and its only fair I do the same for them.

I'd have to immediately quit smoking, in public at least. I'd be required to agree that global warming is real and man is the cause. Even though the earth has cooled in the last decade, everyone knows its still getting warmer. I'd also have to renounce Christianity in favor of Mother Earth and believe that the Constitution is a 'living instrument'.

I'd have to agree that victimhood trumps merit and that liberals know best. Always. And lastly, I'd have to support the notion that racism is still rampant, even if it is the silent 'institutional' type.

In return, I'll be accepted, popular, and invited to the best parties. I'll be eligible for the right to housing, health care, a living wage (even if I don't work) and happiness. And as long as I remain a liberal, no-one is allowed to insult me. How cool is that?

I'll finally get my columns published in my own hometown paper and will have a good chance of getting face time on MSNBC.  Best of all, I'll be able to atone for my sins by merely paying Algore for a few carbon credits. Then, I will live happily ever after. Isn't that worth sacrificing such ethereal and frivolous notions like freedom, individualism and principles?

The Devil In The Details

"Every government interference in the economy consists of giving an unearned benefit, extorted by force, to some men at the expense of others." Ayn Rand

Defying history, reality and common sense, Obama's $3.5 trillion budget resolution passed by Congress earlier this month signals a dramatic shift in the priorities and scope of the federal government.

Not that most Americans are aware of this. The media has kept them pacified with extensive coverage of the $17 billion in cuts contained in the proposal. Cuts that represent one half of one percent of the proposed budget. Cuts that aren't really cuts at all, merely a shifting of our tax dollares from one program to another.

The Washington Examiner reports that Republican strategists are having a problem. "The scale of what President Barack Obama proposes to do to the American economy is so enormous, so far-reaching and so potentially disastrous that the opposition party is having a hard time describing it." Well, I'm not a Republican strategist, I'm just one of the people in flyover country that has to pay for this fiasco and I have no trouble describing it:

Our budget deficit in 2009 will top $1.8 trillion dollars. That's a 400% increase over last years' deficit. Translation: For every dollar the government spends, .48 will be borrowed. Budget office figures released Monday would add $89 billion to the 2009 red ink — increasing it to more than four times last year's all-time high.

One doesn't have to be an economist or a degenerate gambler to know that a house built on sand eventually collapses. We're already seeing it. The United States posted its first April deficit in 26 years, a record $20.91 billion shortfall. But not to worry, Obama is going to cut $17 billion. Whew.

Historical evidence of the economic harm caused by raising taxes in a recession is ignored as the Obama administration continues its frantic grab of ever larger portions of the dollars produced by the hardworking men and women of America.

President Obama's "Budget Blueprint" proposes to raise the tax rate on dividends and capital gains from 15 percent to 20 percent. Heritage Foundation says: "This works out to $27 billion of lost value for current and future retirees unnecessarily redistributed to Congress. That works out to $434 of lost retirement savings for each family."

In case we the people object, Obama has also proposed nearly doubling funds to enforce U.S. tax laws next year, with an aim of more than quadrupling funding for tax compliance to $2.1 billion within five years. Tax compliance means IRS. You know, the agency that wields absolute power over each and every one of us. (Correction: over everyone who is not an elected official or heading up a government agency)

After successfully demonizing the oil companies, Obama offers a gift to all the underachievers and professional victims by socking it to the 'rich' - whose definition is constantly changing, kinda like the Constitution. Obama proposes to end $26 billion in oil and gas industry tax breaks, calling them ''unjustifiable loopholes'' in the tax system that other companies do not get. Hey, I'm all for 'equality', aren't you?

Next up: The Obama administration will propose $60 billion in new tax increases over 10 years on wealthy estates, businesses and others to pay for an expensive overhaul of the health-care system. After all, the rich are only rich because they exploited the poor. And the poor, (again, as defined by the left) have a right to health care, just as they now have the right to housing, education, absolute equality and the right not to be offended. Its called social justice. And its a wonderful thing, allowing our elites moral cover as they pick our pockets bare.

Meanwhile, the government revised estimates for the long-term solvency of Medicare and Social Security on Tuesday, moving up the date when trust funds for the entitlement programs will run out of money. It looks like Medicare will be insolvent in eight years, meaning, it will be the problem of the next administration. Most likely, a Republican administration, unless, of course, the GOP continues to emulate the left and ends up emulating themselves out of existence.

I know economics is a dreary subject. I also know Obama is counting on economic ignorance, lofty rhetoric and a Democrat majority to pass this budget monstrosity. Having the media in his pocket doesn't hurt.

Even with the media focusing on the $17 billion in cuts instead of the bigger picture, most Americans aren't aware of what these 'wasteful spending and unnecessary programs' Obama is claiming as budget cuts include:

* Nixing aid to states to pay for jailing illegal immigrants
* Nixing abstinence only sex-education
* Cutting in half a benefits program for the families of slain police and safety officers
* Eliminating new funding for advanced-generation equipment to detect nuclear weapons and radiological materials at U.S. borders and ports and around New York City .
* Canceling plans to extend the border fence along the U.S.-Mexico border beyond the 670 miles already completed or planned.
* Cutting the budget of OLMS, the federal agency that investigates financial crimes that occur when union officials steal from their union
.
Each and every cut signifies the loss of a hard won battle fought by the 62 million people who didn't vote for Obama. The 62 million people that now have absolutely no effective representation or say in the new and improved path our country is on. A path that has already led us to socialism.

But hey, just because socialism has failed every time its been tried doesn't mean it will fail under Obama. And (when) if it does, Obama will just redefine failure, leaving conservatives, once again, to mop up the mess. And leaving the American people, once again, paying the very real price for yet another failed utopian vision that our elected officials could have avoided by merely studying history instead of indulging their own political fortunes at the expense of their country.

Media Malfeasance

Question: If news isn't reported, is it still news? Not according to the old media. The old axiom, 'If it bleeds, it leads', is still operative in most newsrooms around the country. Good news, if reported at all, is merely an afterthought.

For the savvy news consumer, good news is recognized mainly through its absence. Just last week, headlines across the country reported the dire predictions of the World Health Organization - the swine flu, oops, the H1N1 virus, was 'a grave threat to humanity'. A major pandemic is imminent and we're (again) on the brink of catastrophe.

The threat was so dire, it required the president of the greatest country in the world (that's America, for you Obama voters) to appear, once again, on national TV to advise all citizens to wash their hands. Lost in the lockstep reporting of the old media, was the fact that, gee, many 'experts' were claiming that this dangerous flu strain was no more severe than the normal flu strain.

The pandemic failed to materialize, prompting headlines warning of 'complacency.' It appears the WHO, the Obama administration and the liberal media were, well, wrong. Swine flu deaths: App 12. Unreported, was the fact that regular flu deaths (in 2006) were 56,000.

The reigning political elite that now rule our country have officially branded most conservative views as 'fringe' views held by 'extremists', validating a viewpoint held for decades by the old media. Thus journalists no longer feel the need to report on issues of concern to the 62 million Americans who didn't vote for Obama. Their concerns are officially irrelevant. Case closed.

The majority of Americans realize the liberal bent of the old media. Most can identify opinion pieces that are increasingly presented as news, but they have to resort to the net or talk radio in order to be made aware of all the good news which is deliberately relegated to the back burner in the (remaining) newspapers and nightly news broadcasts.

For example:

Recent polls show shrinking support for new gun control measures and strong public sentiment for enforcing existing laws instead.

A new national poll suggests that a majority of Americans oppose legalizing same sex marriages.

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of U.S. voters say that they prefer a free market economy over a government-managed economy. That’s up seven points since December.

A new poll conducted by Pew Research finds the support for legal abortions has dropped to its lowest level in 15 years.

For just the second time in more than five years of daily or weekly tracking, Republicans now lead Democrats in the latest edition of the Generic Congressional Ballot.

These items are no longer considered news by the media elite. Not only does the old media purposefully downplay any news item that challenges their lock-step liberal world view, news organizations have taken increasing latitude with the news they do choose to report.

A recent NYT headline announced that 'Criminal Prosecutions Will Not Be Pursued For Bush 'Terror Lawyers'. Whew. Reading beyond the headline however, one found the real story. Namely, the unprecedented interference and intimidation by our Justice Dept., deciding merely to refer those nasty lawyers to the Bar Assoc. for disbarment.

Reading this story, casual readers might assume that the government actually has the right to censure legal opinions. Serious readers know that our very rule of law in under serious attack. Ho Hum.

The media has now put a new twist on Dan Rather's 'fake but accurate' premise. They routinely report 'accurate but fake' stories, with facts presented in a such a way as to alter their original meaning. This is deliberate. This is accepted. And this is media malfeasance.

If the conservative press decided to adopt the old media's misleading and manipulative template, one could expect to see headlines like 'Nancy Morgan Decides Not To Indict Obama For Phony Birth Certificate'. But I wouldn't post a headline like that, because its not honest journalism. And neither the old media.

By the way, in case you haven't heard, we won the war in Iraq.

Lies and Liars

Last week saw an unusual number of outright lies from our media and political class. Lies that went virtually unchallenged. Yawn.

Lie #1: ABC, celebrating Obama's 100 day mark, announced he is enjoying the best presidential job approval rating of any president at this point in 20 years. Not so. A simple google search shows that George W. Bush, at the 100 day mark in his presidency, enjoyed a 62% approval rating. Obama, alas, enjoys only a 52% approval rating. ABC lied.

Lie #2: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced to the world that she was never told during a congressional briefing in 2002 that waterboarding or other "enhanced" interrogation techniques were being used on terrorism suspects. This directly contradicts a 2007 Washington Post article  saying that the California Democrat and three other lawmakers had received an hour-long secret briefing on the interrogation tactics, including waterboarding, and that they raised no objections at the time. In plain English - Nancy Pelosi lied.

Not mentioned in this brou ha ha is the fact that waterboarding of American military personnel, as part of their training, far exceeded the three times this heinous method was used on terrorists. But torture applied to members of the U.S. military is justified, because the left has already pronounced them guilty, unlike the poor terrorists who have yet to enjoy their day in American courts.

Lie #3: Next up, California Congressman Henry Waxman. After accusing Newt Gingrich of trying to scare people into opposing 'climate legislation', Waxman flatly stated that the cap and trade legislation currently being hatched in Congress was designed to "contain energy cost increases."

If Waxman wasn't so smart, I would classify his statement as merely a misstatement. But Waxman does his home work. Policy wonk that he is, he had to be aware of the numerous analysis that predict this same cap and trade legislation will increase yearly energy costs for the average family by $1,800 to $3,900. Conclusion: Waxman lied.

Lie #4: Our list of liars would be woefully incomplete without inclusion of Father Earth, Algore. Gore told a House hearing that the Democratic climate bill would limit carbon dioxide and other pollution linked to a warming of the earth and would simultaneously solve the problems of the climate, economy and national security. No supporting facts were given as to how taxing air will help the economy, much less improve our security. None were necessary because Algore has a Nobel Prize. (Lie #5: Nobel Prize recipients don't lie.)

Completely overlooked also, was Gore's underlying premise that man made pollution is linked to climate change. Despite widespread acceptance of this 'fake but accurate' premise, no science has been able to definitively link climate change to man, despite billions of our tax dollars and years of trying. Steve Milloy of JunkScience.com offered $100,000 to anyone who could supply this missing link. To date, he has received no takers. Hmmm....

I'm not 100% sure I can call Gore a liar. After all, a lie is a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive. And there remains the slight possibility that Algore might actually believe the nonsense he spouts.

Another widely accepted premise that has gone unchallenged is that Bush lied. Any liberal, oops, progressive, worth his salt knows for a fact that Bush lied. But strangely enough, not one person has ever taken me up on my oft repeated offer of $100 to anyone who could point out a specific instance where Bush actually lied.

From this I can conclude one of two things: Either Bush didn't lie, or liberals are so busy feeding at the public trough that they don't need my measly $100 bucks.

Google search is invaluable in supplying facts and credible rebuttals to the avalanche of misstatements, out of context statements, and outright lies that are mistakenly accepted as truth these days. Unfortunately, there are two things this search engine can't find: a list of the new politically correct rules we are all now obliged to live by, and a list of the new definitions of old words.

Since I still have that $100 bucks proving Bush didn't lie, I'm going to go out on a limb and offer it to any liberal, oops, progressive, who can supply me with two things. An up to date list of politically correct rules and a current list of the new definitions of old words. I'll increase this amount to a cool $1,000 bucks to anyone who can tell me when Americans voted on these new rules and definitions.

Obama's Rippling Pecs

Just as I didn't want to hear the explicit details about Bill Clinton's private parts when Juanita Broderick accused him of rape back in the 90's, neither do I want to see the current President of the United States featured on the front page of a magazine with his chest bared.

Color me a prude for caring more about the image of the United States than Obama's rippling pecs. Personally, I don't think they ripple that much but hey, the media says they do, so they must. Color me old fashioned for believing modesty is not an outdated virtue. And color me disgusted that the president of the greatest country on earth allows his half naked image to be displayed and included in the new culture of celebrity.

Yes, sales of the magazine will go through the roof. And yes, the younger set will consider Obama the essence of cool. And the feminists? They're having a collective orgasm as we speak.

To feminists, Obama is the quintessential metrosexual. For all you other prudes out there, a metrosexual is a feminist invention designed to redefine a 'real man'. Guys like John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are out - they exemplified the now outdated version of strong men who used brute force instead of relying on dialogue and charm.

The new revised version of manhood is more politically correct. Body hair is out and testosterone is best kept under wraps. Strong silent types are passe. The new male is sensitive and knows how to cry. The new male is more gentle, more feminized, less threatening, less male. More, well, Obama.

In the face of overwhelming acceptance of the new-improved 'man' I feel kinda silly. My idea of a real man is more along the lines of Clint Eastwood or Sean Connery. You know, the type of guy that wears the pants as opposed to the dude who uses hair spray and nail polish.

As I gaze on Obama's bare and rippling chest, I don't see a real man. I see the nerd that gets sand kicked on him by more powerful members of the species. I see a narcissist who values his exterior over his interior. But like I said, that's just me. And my kind of thinking is way out of tune these days.

As my feminist mother will tell you, my problem is I can't alter my basic nature in order to be in tune with the times. My nature insists there is a basic difference between men and women. Men are stronger. They are the protectors of women and children, whether or not those women and children think they need protecting. Women are the nurturers, taking care of their men and their children. You know, the role they've played since the dawn of man.

When I see Obama cavorting around in his swim suit, I don't feel, well, secure. I keep thinking of all those nasty terrorists that want to annihilate us. I know its silly, but I just can't envision Obama as a warrior, a protector, a 'real man'. I also can't keep from wondering why everyone sees him as handsome and sexy and virile. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Our president has been called the world's greatest celebrity. That may be true. My question is, what happens when the celebrity fades, as it always does. Who will be left to deal with the threats our country faces, both at home and abroad?  If I had to bet my last dollar, (and its almost come to that) I'd bet on murdering jihadists over a cool guy with rippling pecs any day. But that's just me.

Blame America First

President Obama traveled to Latin America last week and used his world stage, once again, to assure foreign leaders that America is but one culture among many and to apologize for America's greatness.

Expounding on his campaign promise to promote equality, Obama assured America's foes that the United States is no better than any third world country. "I pledge to you that we seek an equal partnership," Obama said to Venezuela dictator Chavez. "There is no senior partner and junior partner in our relations." He then proceeded to, once again, apologize for America's arrogance.

Obama's much vaunted tolerance was proudly on display as he politely endured a 50 minute anti-US diatribe from Nicaragua dictator Daniel Ortega. He then graciously, and publicly accepted a book from his new buddy, Venezuela dictator Chavez. Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent, a virulently anti-American book, instantly skyrocketed to #6 on Amazon.

The left is rejoicing at the apparent instant friendship between President Obama and thug Chavez, celebrating the vindication of their long-held belief that dialogue is better than war and that apologizing for America is a cool way to win friends and influence people.

Mea culpa is now official U.S. policy. In Mexico earlier last week, Obama took the occasion to blame America for all the gun violence in Mexico. Despite the fact that the report he was echoing has been thoroughly discredited, Obama stoically echoed the 'fake but accurate', theme made popular by the likes of (discredited) Dan Rather, (discredited Nobel prize winning author) Rigoberta Menchu, (discredited sex researcher) Kinsey..., well, you get the idea.

President Obama promised he would reach out to the rest of the world. One of his main campaign pledges was a vow to make everyone like us. Never mind that that kind of thinking is usually seen only among school kids. Obama wants us to be popular. And now we are. Just as long as we're humble and continue kowtowing to despots.

The problem is, our new best friends are not very savory characters. From Castro to Kim Jong Il to Achmadenijad to Chavez, these guys are the school yard bullies. They routinely kill their own citizens, they impose law by fiat, they jail or kill any dissidents and generally impose their will on all citizens unfortunate enough to reside in their countries. But hey, it works for them.

Liberals, oops, progressives, hold the belief that dialogue, not guns, will cause third world dictators to realize and then remedy the error of their ways. Totally absent from their equation is any recognition of past history. Namely, the last 20 or so years that produced lots of words and dialogue yet spectacularly failed to influence or change any actions or policies.

Believing that his charm can trump reality, President Obama remains intent on changing the world. But first, America has to be brought down to size. We must acknowledge yet again the sins of our past and, like celebrities who hit bottom, apologize profusely and publicly and then enter rehab to assure the world we are, indeed, sorry.

Obama is a great communicator who convincingly tells the world what they've yearned to hear. Namely, that America is arrogant. And we're sorry. And by the way, our system of, gasp, capitalism, despite being the engine that has fed the world, is flawed. And we're sorry.

Our culture is responsible for all the world's ills, and we're sorry about that too. Mea culpa, mea culpa. On the bright side, now that the Obama administration has branded most conservatives as extremists and terrorists, maybe Obama will apologize to them too. Ya think?

America's new president is well suited to displaying America's humility. That's because he really believes what he is saying. One need only look at his 20 year attendance at a church that preached hatred of America. One need only look at his (now former) associates, domestic terrorists Bill Dorn and wife. One need only listen to Michelle Obama's own words on her 'pride' in America. One need only read Obama's own book. America is to blame for everything wrong in the world. Case closed. Let's move on. Oh, and we're sorry.

When I asked my beautiful and smart, yet decidedly liberal niece, Sarah, why she voted for Obama, she thought a moment and then said, "He believes in the same things I do." When asked to expound, she said, "Equality."

68 million Americans voted for Obama based on the same lofty ideal. Equality, inclusion, tolerance, multiculturalism and the 'fake but accurate' belief that America is a racist, arrogant and imperial nation that needs to atone to the world for its sin of freedom and greatness.

The left, as exemplified by Obama, firmly believe all of life is a zero-sum game i.e.: if someone is rich, its always at the expense of the poor. A person, business or country is only successful because they hijacked success from those less fortunate. They view America as a nation of victims, oppressed by those that have the audacity to become successful and/or rich (without government help).

The 62 million Americans who didn't vote for Obama think differently. They believe, based on history, that kowtowing to dictators is interpreted as a sign of weakness. They believe, based on reality, that all the carrots in the world will not change the minds of enemies dedicated to America's downfall. They know from experience that accepting or rewarding bad behavior only encourages more bad behavior. They know, and Reagan proved, that America's strength, real and perceived, is the single largest factor in avoiding war with recalcitrant dictators.

Equality is a wonderful concept. But, as Laurence Reed of the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) says, "Citizens of free countries are not equal. And countries where citizens are equal, are not free." That is a reality that no amount of rhetoric or mea culpas can change. Sorry.

Obama's Alternate Reality

A wife confronted her husband in bed with another woman. As the other woman hastily donned her clothes and beat a hasty retreat, the husband looked deep into his wife's eyes and said, "What woman?" As in, "Who are you going to believe, me or the evidence of your own eyes?"

A parallel scenario is playing out in the media, with the White House denying that President Obama actually bowed to the Saudi King on his recent trip abroad.

Despite the widely circulated video of said event showing Obama kowtowing to some Arab dude, we are expected to believe the White House line that Obama didn't bow. The word 'bow' has thus joined ranks with the word 'is' in terms of, well, a matter of definition. Context, if you will.

Like a small boy caught with a chocolate mustache summoning outrage, outrage on being accused of eating mom's chocolate cake, so too, is the left in high dudgeon over the temerity of some disgruntled fringe kooks daring to challenge the evidence of their own eyes. "He didn't bow, he's just a tall guy and had to bend over!". Right.

Obama's latest complete disregard of reality is not an isolated incident. Those of the liberal, oops, progressive persuasion are adept at crafting their own reality. And any challenge to their reality is met with immediate deflection and scorn for the one who is so utterly naive that they haven't recognized that the rules, along with words, have changed. Evolved, as they say.

Language is now like the constitution. The 'living' Constitution, adopted by liberals to reflect the times rather than the meaning of the founders, now means what ever an activist judge says it means. And the new, improved language of the left now means whatever the liberals, oops, progressives, want it to mean.

To understand the ever changing rules, one is advised to keep a small notebook in order to keep track of the current reality. The word liberal has been replaced with progressive. The term investment has replaced the nasty old word taxes. Climate change has replaced global warming, which makes sense, since the earth is cooling, and 'climate crisis' sounds almost as scary as a 'global warming crisis'.

Oh, and the word bow now means 'A gesture of submission wherein the subservient one kneels and touches his forehead to the ground in front of the dominant one.' And Obama most decidedly didn't do that, as any moron can see.

The list goes on.

This progressive rearrangement of reality has a name. In medical terms, its called cognitive dissonance. But the ever changing rules now dictate that anyone who mentions that inconvenient fact is, de facto, a member of the vast right wing conspiracy. And membership in that group automatically nullifies any criticism. Got it?

Actually, in terms of disorders, cognitive dissonance is a cool one to have. Imagine, being able to rearrange reality to your own specifications. Pretty heady stuff! In the blink of an eye, world peace is achievable. With the utterance of an impassioned plea, the world is magically free of nukes. With a nod from Obama, the UN becomes the only policing body the world needs. No longer do we need to waste millions on defense. All threats to our country are now only in the minds of conservatives.

And lets not forget those terrorists. All of a sudden, with the offer of a hand in peace, they are rendered harmless. (Please add Kumbaya to your notebooks.)

One of the coolest changes is in the word sin. Please note, sin now reflects only a few limited actions performed by those who still, gasp, believe in God or reside on the right. For the rest of us, the only sin is any action or crime against Mother Nature. Whew. No more Hail Mary's as long as you recycle.

Crime is another good one. Please note: crime now only refers to crimes against the environment or anything a Republican is accused of, as defined by those who know best. (Those who know best now means any government official).

All other crime, say, by actual criminals, is now classified as an involuntary act brought about by a hapless victim.

Obama promised us change. And by golly, we've gotten it. With a few adjustments here and there (don't worry, others will pay for them) we are on the brink of achieving utopia. If only in the minds of the liberals, oops, progressives.
